Small Format Digital Printing

THE FACTS

Xerox iGen4 Advantages at a glance:

  • Prints on stocks up to 350gsm.
  • Prints sheet size up to 571x364mm.
  • Improved environmental footprint.
  • More automated controls over colour consistency and overall print quality.

And another thing…

The DC8000 (pictured above) is the perfect back-up for the iGen4. With these two digital machines we can always get those ‘print on demand’ jobs done on time, every time.

At Benefitz we have also invested over $150,000 in the world’s best Personalised Printing (or Variable Data) software and server. Combine these with the Digital Printing capability of iGen4 and we have the most powerful variable data printing package in the market.

During 2009 we installed a brand new Xerox iGen4 Press at Benefitz. A key driver in our decision to install the $1 million press were the advancements in technology, including environmental advantages, some of which have been detailed on the facing page.

“iGen4 has simply taken our small format digital printing to an entirely new level,” explains Benefitz Managing Director Aidan Bennett. iGen3 proved to be valuable for our business but iGen4 offers a completely new proposition. The enhancements that have been made by Xerox are significant.”

iGen4 is an environmentally better choice for many reasons:

• 97% of components are recyclable or re-manufacturable.
• Dry inks are non-toxic and have closed containers with a transfer efficiency rate of near to 100%.
• Doesn’t generate or use alcohols, chlorinated solvents, acids, or flammable materials.

Key advancements and benefits of Xerox iGen4…

Auto Density Control – Automatically detects and eliminates density variations and streaks, while the press is running. Streaks are inherent in most printing processes and often require operator intervention to resolve. With this new component, streaks are eliminated automatically

Carrier Dispensing System – New method of combining dry ink and carrier - in place of traditional developer - that yields consistent colour uniformity from the first print to the last and from job to job.

High Definition Linearisation – Results in better production of neutral greys and highlight shadows. It also improves photo smoothness, especially in faces, while maintaining sharp background details.

Advanced Colour Profiling – Innovation that enables greater colour consistency and realism in objects such as faces and skies. This tool automatically adjusts colours to closely match offset printing standards in minutes.

High-speed Inline Spectrophotometer – Automatically creates colour samples on target sheets, registers them for accuracy and processes the data and takes the appropriate action to adjust the press. The results are offset and photo image quality along with spot colour accuracy.
