Processorless plate system proves environmentally friendly

Printing Plates for the Benefitz volume offset printing machines are made on a Screen PT-R4300 B2 platesetter. This processless system was provided by Fujifilm the agents for Screen in New Zealand.

“This machine has now been in operation for over two years and has proven to be fantastic for our business,” advises Benefitz Managing Director Aidan Bennett. “The installation of this Screen PT-R4300 B2 platesetter means that all our volume offset machines now operate without the need for chemicals which is very pleasing. Apart from the very obvious environmental advancements the machine is also much more reliable and efficient than the previous technology. It is more automated and is able to produce plates much faster which has been excellent given the growth we have had in this part of our business.”

The Screen PT-R4300 platesetter has been developed specifically for those who demand the very highest in both print and environmental performance. It requires no finishing unit, and the chemistry, water and waste by-products of traditional plate production are eliminated completely. There is no compromise to either the quality or productivity achieved when compared to traditional thermal systems.

Trueflow unifies management of output data and processing, whether we are printing projects on our conventional offset machines or on our wide range of digital machinery. Hand in hand with the introduction of Screen Trueflow and the new Screen Processless Plate System Benefitz has also invested in a LabProof high quality colour proofing system that accepts RIP’ed files and outputs to an Epson Stylus™ Pro 880 printer providing Chromalin quality proofs.
