Benefitz Makes Holden Ute Roar

THE Benefitz printing and signage capability is truly on display at the Auckland Zoo. The Benefitz team have recently turned a plain white Holden Colorado Ute into a vibrant advertisement for the Zoo and Schofield Holden, who have supplied the vehicle for use by Zoo personnel.

Schofield General Manager Terry Honan provided the Benefitz team with the challenge to undertake the entire project. This included designing, printing and application. His desire was to have a completely ‘wrapped’ vehicle which provided strong branding for both the Zoo and Schofield Holden.

Benefitz designers Lee Darby and Helen Boswell combined to complete the design. They were provided with a range of Lion images by the Auckland Zoo marketing team. For Lee and Helen there was a great deal of Photoshop work involved. A feature of the design is how the Lion photographs have been combined with the Schofield Holden branding.

“Helen and Lee did an amazing job,” says Benefitz Managing Director Aidan Bennett. “Their concept of having the animals lying on the Schofields and Holden logo is a striking feature of the vehicle and subtlely emphasises their branding. The Lion paw marks on either side also add an interesting feature to the vehicle.”

The images were printed on premium vehicle vinyl on the Benefitz Mimaki machinery and then laminated with premium laminate. Special ‘see through’ vehicle vinyl was used on the windows of the vehicle so vision is maintained for the driver.

“The application was very challenging for the Benefitz signage team but they can be very proud of the end result,” adds Aidan Bennett. “The Holden Colorado had many curves and difficult bits and pieces to negotiate which they did very efficiently and without fuss. The end result is a real advertisement of the Benefitz capability.”

Client Terry Honan of Schofields of Newmarket was very happy with the completed vehicle. He explains. “Our desire was to have a striking vehicle that would really make an impact at the Zoo. Aidan and his team have achieved this for us. They also made the process very easy by liaising with the Auckland Zoo marketing people during the design process and bringing it all together very quickly. The whole project was completed within a couple of weeks.”
