Last year Benefitz installed the Screen Truepress, a four-colour ‘hybrid’ digital offset press that uses processless plates, which do not require chemicals, therefore setting new ecological standards for printing technologies.

The improvement of the Benefitz environmental footprint has taken another huge step forward recently with the installation of a processless plate system for the other two Benefitz volume offset printing machines. This Screen PT-R4300 B2 platesetter solution has been supplied by Fujifilm.

“We place a huge emphasis on improving our environmental footprint and every time we install new technology solutions there are massive improvements as these machines are all developed with this in mind,” advises Benefitz Managing Director Aidan Bennett. “The installation of this Screen PT-R4300 B2 platesetter means that all our volume offset machines now operate without the need for chemicals which is very pleasing.”

The Screen PT-R4300 platesetter has been developed specifically for those who demand the very highest in both print and environmental performance. It requires no finishing unit, and the chemicals, water and waste by-products of traditional plate production are eliminated completely. There is no compromise to either the quality or productivity achieved when compared to traditional thermal systems.
