Two Exciting New Grand Format Machines For 2009
Dec 9, 2009

printing machines for 2009 New five metre billboard/banner printer and new
flatbed printing machine are the best in the country.
In January and early February Benefitz has installed two new state-of-the-art grand format printing machines which are manufactured by HP Scitex. These are the HP Scitex FB6100 Flatbed printing machine and the HP Scitex XP5300 five metres wide Billboard and Banner printing machine. These two machines are without doubt the best machines of their type in the country.
HP Scitex FB6100 Flatbed Printing Machine
This machine has replaced the Benefitz Veejet flatbed and offers
massive advantages in speed and quality. The FB6100 prints to a
resolution of up to 1270 dpi. It can produce a wide range of brilliant
8-color output with 28 picoliter ink drops. The printing system, with
this small 28 picoliter drop size and accurate registration, produces
incredible high-quality images. The FB6100 also converts from a flatbed
to a roll-fed printer. It will print at up to 100 square metres an hour
(4-colour) and 52 square metres an hour (8-colour). It can print
flatbed images up to 3.2 metres x 2 metres. The FB6100 can print on
both rigid and flexible media. It will print directly on virtually any
rigid, thick, or heavy specialty media, including glass, wood, metals,
or more conventional media such as foam board, PVC, corflute and
signage board up to 50mm thick. A massive advantage is its ability to
print white Ink. So at Benefitz we can now use white ink as a spot
colour for reproducing the white elements on an image.
FB6100 Advantages at a glance:-
- Prints up to 1270dpi.
- Prints up to 3.2 x 2m
- Prints up to 100 square metres per hour
- Prints on substrates up to 50mm thick.
- Has roll-fed (roll to roll) function.
- Prints white.
This machine has replaced the Benefitz XLJet machine and like the new flatbed offers advantages in speed and quality as well as environmental improvements. The commissioning of this machine will see Benefitz moving away from using hard-solvent inks and substrates that don’t break down. The machine has two print modes. High speed (up to 300 square metres an hour using specialty ink for billboards, banners and outdoor signage) and a Standard speed (up to 90 square metres an hour for higher resolution and internal application). The HP Scitex XP5300 will print on PVC Banner Vinyl, Backlit vinyl, Mesh Vinyl, polyethylene, synthetic paper and textiles up to five metres wide.
XP5300 Advantages at a glance:-
- Prints up to 360dpi as standard.
- Prints up to 300 square metres per hour.
- Has two printing modes High speed and standard.
- Uses UV-curable pigmented inks.
- Will print on recyclable substrates.
And another thing… Improving business practise so our manufacturing processes have less impact on the environment is a focus at Benefitz. The investment in this new technology will mean we will make huge advances in this area.
