Billboard Printing Machine

5 metres wide Billboard & Banner Printer. Up to 300 square metres per hour! Up to 360dpi as standard. UV-curable pigmented inks. Will print on recyclable substrates.

THE Benefitz HP Scitex XP5300 five metres wide Billboard and Banner printing machine is without doubt the best Billboard & Banner printing machine in the country.

The XP5300 replaced the Benefitz XLJet machine during 2009 and offers advantages in speed and quality as well as environmental improvements. The commissioning of this machine has seen Benefitz move away from using hard-solvent inks. It can also print on much more environmentally friendly substrates. The machine has two print modes. High speed (up to 300 square metres an hour using specialty ink for billboards, banners and outdoor signage) and a Standard speed (up to 90 square metres an hour for higher resolution and internal application). The HP Scitex XP5300 will print on PVC Banner Vinyl, Backlit vinyl, Mesh Vinyl, polyethylene, synthetic paper and textiles up to five metres wide.

“The decision to go with this machine was really driven by our desire to get away from printing with hard-solvent inks,” explains Benefitz Director Dallas Bennett. “It was essential that we offer our customers an environmentally sound solution for their grand format printing and this new HP XP5300 is that solution. We can now print billboard skins on a completely recyclable media using UV-curable inks. There are also some real bonuses over the older machinery in that the XP5300 prints up to six times faster than our previous machine – and also prints at higher resolutions.”

“We have also discovered that it is a very versatile machine due to its speed, low cost consumables and ability to print on a range of substrates. An example is that as well as billboards and banners we are now printing economical point-of-sale A0 posters on the machine on Yuppo and paper stocks. We have been able to price these posters at a rate which competes with traditional solutions such as screenprinting and the quality is better. An example is a recent campaign we did for a leading Australian retail group. There were over 2000 instore banners and posters required. These were all printed, finished and despatched within a few days by doing the whole campaign on this very fast, efficient and cost-effective machine.”
